"La vie en rose": to live with an outlook of positivity, viewing each day through a colorful lens. This opening performance of the OFF the Beaten Path Performance series exists as a musical kaleidoscope, highlighting the wide range of sound, timbre and textures captured by both piano and strings.

Featuring the effervescent pianist Judith Gordon, described by The Washington Post as “impressive…her hands danc[ing] across the keyboard…”, this event presents two works of composer Tan Dun, culminating with Gabriel Faure’s Piano Quintet No. 1 in D minor, Op. 89 - a masterpiece of the genre.
