Our BIGGEST season yet

THANK YOU

Our third season - We Make The World - enriched the cultural landscape of Dallas by aiming to raise awareness of climate change and its presence in our daily lives. Furthermore, the season long exploration challenged audiences and encouraged self-reflection through its artistic programming, interactive production designs, audience dialogues and meaningful content.

Climate change has been a topic of contention and unease these decades, bringing about many nonprofit organizations dedicated to positive environmental change. Furthermore, this subject matter is incredibly poignant given Texas' ever-increasing wide-spread weather extremes.

We are extremely grateful for the support from our various sponsors and cultural & community organizations that helped bring this significant, purposeful season to life.

The Season Opener

The Season Opener

FRAGE [to ask]

The 23/24 OFF the Beaten Path Performance Series begins with a question: how is climate change present in my life? This opening performance serves as an introduction to our season-long reflection of the effects of climate change and both its subtle & unsubtle presence in our daily lives.

Featuring the award-winning Julius Quartet with guest cellist Geoffrey Manyin and guest violist Lila Brown, this program features works from young contemporary composers, including a past-participant of the Virtual Workshop & Performance, culminating in Beethoven’s turbulent masterpiece “The Storm” (String Quintet in C Major, Op. 29).

FOR SEASONS [an earth song]

“Live in each season as it passes; breathe the air, drink the drink, taste the fruit and resign yourself to the influence of the earth”

Henry David Thoreau, Walden

The second performance of the OFF the Beaten Path Performance Series reflects on the changing of the seasons, what they mean to us and the symbolism they hold in our passing lives. This contemplative program features the return of pianist Mikhail Berestnev and soprano Ekaterina Kim performing works for solo piano and piano & voice.

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT

January 31st introduced our new ARTIST SPOTLIGHT series featuring pianist Judith Gordon in a one-night solo recital. Making her EMERGE debut last season, Judith captivated audiences with her expressive musicality, electric energy and warm personality.
